RBA and DFAT Hold Event in Sydney, Australia

June 3, 2026

The RBA and Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Ms. Jane Duke, Ambassador to Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking) co-hosted an event on June 3 in Sydney, Australia: Driving Responsible Business: Evolving Business Practices Through Human Rights Due Diligence.

This meeting convened government representatives, industry leaders, and civil society experts to explore how companies can implement effective human rights due diligence (HRDD) in practice while preparing for emerging global regulations and legislation, including mandatory due diligence laws and forced labour import restrictions.

In addition, participants discussed alignment with international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPBHR) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and shared practical insights from companies implementing site-level due diligence across their supply chains.
